Advanced Plastic Repair Training

Advanced push to Paint is a two-day training course designed to support technicians to rapidly reduce areas of damage using advanced glue pulling and basic push bar techniques.

Following training, technicians will be able to quickly reduce areas of damage, material usage and overall repair time.

Who is the Course Aimed at?

Push to Paint is aimed at paint, MET or panel technicians and apprentices looking to expand their current skill sets and repair efficiency. This course is open to all levels of technicians and does not require any panel repair experience.

Content - The following key technical aspects will be covered:
  • Safety guidelines – When is it safe to repair or replace?
  • Damage assessment – How to identify what is repairable and which method is most suitable
  • Understanding the repair options available – Glue pulling, Push Bar, Induction
  • Basic push bar techniques – Utilising a variety of different tooling options
  • Basic and advanced glue pulling techniques – Utilising a variety of different glue pulling options
  • Selecting the right combination of tooling – Understanding access and substrate restrictions
  • How to approach steel, aluminium and EV/hybrid repairs – Which methods are most effective and their limitations
Competency - The Technician will:
  • When it's safe and profitable to repair
  • Have advanced knowledge of damage analysis from a PDR perspective
  • Gain advanced skill sets in how to rapidly reduce areas of damage
  • Gain advanced knowledge in how to use light board reflection
  • Learn the importance of cross checking
  • Attain the skill sets to confidently complete steel, aluminium and EV/hybrid repairs using Push to Paint techniques
